Catalan focus markers as discourse particles

In this paper, we investigate focus markers in Catalan that can take on discourse-particle readings. We two elements have not been studied from a formal linguistics perspective so far: the adverb precisament ‘precisely’ and particle també ‘also’. demonstrate these feature interpretations identify as type of meaning familiar discourse particles languages other than Catalan. After having outlined basic distribution interpretative effects particles, analyze semantics pragmatics within probabilistic argumentative framework, then conclude paper by comparing observations analyses pointed out for to reading similar markers.
